“LA FELINE” is the ideal location to visit the Valle d’Itria ie a valley in the heart of Puglia characterized by the picturesque setting of trulli, dry stone walls, olive groves & vineyards. Famous towns overlooking the valley are Ceglie Messapica, Cisternino, Ostuni (also known as città bianca or white town), Martina Franca, Locorotondo and obviously the trullo capital Alberobello which is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Adriatic beaches can be reached within 20 minutes and the Ionian coast in less than an hour. We recommend visiting Monopoli and Polignano a mare, 2 small but stunning towns at the Adriatic coast with eye-catching city centers and breathtaking sea views. Closer to Brindisi you can visit Torre Guaceto a beautiful natural reserve. Please take a stroll discovering unspoiled beaches and bays, unique fauna & flora and take a dive in the crystal-clear water.

Other interesting places to visit in less than an hour’s drive : famous caves of Castellana Grotte (most beautiful in Europe) and Egnazia archeological park which is a site full of extraordinary artefacts from the Messapian eras. For those looking for some adventure with the kids we recommend visiting theme park/aquapark Egnazia and/or the Zoosafari in Fasano.

In one to 2 hours drive you can visit the famous cities of Bari & Taranto. Further up north from Bari there is Castel del Monte a 13th century castle dominantly located on a hill built by emperor Frederick II and another UNESCO world heritage site. In the southern Salento area you can visit the attractive and interesting cities of Otranto and Gallipoli and also Lecce, the baroque capital of Salento. In this region you can also visit several good and famous wineries eg Cantine Due Palme, Masseria Li Veli, Cantina San Donaci, Cantele just to mention a few…

Finally even the 2019 European cultural capital Matera in the Basilicata region is within reach ie a 100km drive from the house….

Plenty of options to enjoy the historical, cultural and gastronomic heart of Puglia !
